Rachel & Jadie | Golden Hour Engagements at Amber Grove
Some sessions feel less like a photoshoot and more like an evening spent catching up with old friends.
That was exactly the case with Rachel and Jadie.
From the moment we arrived at Amber Grove, there was an ease about them. No rushing. No overthinking. Just two people who genuinely enjoy being together and weren't afraid to laugh, dance, swing, and soak in one of those perfect Virginia summer evenings.
The property couldn't have been a better backdrop. Between the weathered barns, white fencing, sprawling fields, and golden sunset filtering through the trees, every corner seemed to tell a different part of their story. We started near the farmhouse before wandering across the property, finding quiet moments tucked between old buildings and wide-open spaces.
Rachel and Jadie have the kind of connection photographers hope for during every session. The way they look at each other, the way they naturally settle into one another's arms, and the way they laugh when no one thinks the camera is paying attention made documenting the evening feel effortless.
As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, we found ourselves beneath a large tree bathed in golden light. Those moments always seem to slow time down a bit. It's easy to get caught up in the busy pace of life, but photographs have a way of reminding us to pause and appreciate the people standing beside us through it all.
One of my favorite parts of the evening was ending the session on the swings. There's something timeless about it—two people laughing together as the light fades and another day comes to a close. Those are often the moments that become favorites years later, not because they were planned, but because they were genuine. Looking forward to their wedding later this year!
