"Marriage should be a duet -- when one sings, the other claps" -- Joe Murray

I love getting emails from past clients sharing happenings in their lives. I photographed Leslie and Jason's wedding back in 2009 and will be capturing their little twins over the next twelve months. Emma and Carter are about seven weeks old and were dressed to the nines for their first Christmas session. I'm sure quite a bit will change over the year but will be great to look back next Christmas at what was.
"I love you, and that's the beginning and ending of everything"
Decided to skip the Black Friday shopping lines today and instead, spend the afternoon with Chris and Bri for their engagements. The two were lucky to have a few days together as Chris is stationed in Colorado while Bri finished up her studies at West Point.
Wishing them all the best with everything ahead of them in the future from Colorado to Kosovo!
"The heart wants what it wants. There's no logic to these things. You meet someone and you fall in love and that's that."
We braved the first real chilly weekend in Richmond to capture pure gold! Looking forward to Devon and Tyler's big day early next year!
This year we offered a small amount of Christmas Mini's, it was a chilly morning at Lloyd Family Farms but was a fantastic time. We utilized four different setups for our families, the gazebo with garland and wreath was a gorgeous sight to see with the warmth of the sunlight coming over the trees in the distance.
Amazing couple. Perfect weather. Throw in some gorgeous venues with a fantastic group of friends and you get an awesome wedding day.

Really, nothing needs to be said about the Virginia House – it’s awesomeness is well known & documented.. But… Add the amazing Brittany & Kevin, and their excellent friends & family, Lunch & Supper…and you’ve got a pretty awesome recipe for a wedding day to remember!
It's been years since I photographed Katie and Phil's wedding day! Since then, they have seen their family grow with Dagney and the soon to arrive Greer. It was great to catch up with them again for a little maternity shoot/Mommy and daughter shoot.
Dagney seems very excited to be a big sister and was full of energy the whole shoot! I commented to Katie that I wished I had a tenth of her energy at the end of the day!
You might have noticed that most of our family portrait sessions are either at a park or at the family home. So we love it when clients ask for a location that’s a little different. This one happened to be along Dock Street in the city. But with the greenery and the trees, you wouldn’t know that you can still hear the sounds of the city!
This sweet father and son were perfectly embraced in the gorgeous morning light of downtown Richmond. This kid loved exploring and climbing! And I loved getting a spark of new creativity with a blank canvas that comes with a new shooting location.
Here’s a peek at our time together!
What's better than giving the gift of family portraits to your parents?! Nothing!
Shortly before the Holiday season, GP had reached out to me to see if it was possible to have a gift certificate made for his parents as a Christmas gift from him and his brother. Well, come Christmas morning there parents were ecstatic about the idea of having some updated family photographs in the Spring.
Fast forward....Spring is now here and the entire family was able to meet up in Richmond for a weekend. The weather was amazing and the Tuckahoe Plantation was an unbelievable background for these!
Usually during family sessions it's the little ones that all over the place running around and hamming it up for the camera but today it was these two crazy pups!
Oh, this little guy!
We’ve now photographed Meredith and Chris's engagement session, wedding day, maternity session, and now newborn session!
It was so awesome meeting baby Nate, anytime our couples let us photograph this huge milestone, my heart grows three sizes!
